Official Race Program for Disneyland Half

This means the race is getting close, yikes!!

runDisney just released the Official Race Program for the Disneyland Half Marathon that's being held over Labor Day.  Since it's my first time EVER to Disneyland, to say I'm excited is an understatement!

Can't really tell if anything is drastically different from past races, except that they're going to be using B-Tags instead of D-Tags.  Never used the B-Tags...anyone have any thoughts?

The expo vendor list has some trusty favorites so I'm sure I'll be spending a pretty penny while browsing!

I just know I'll be pretty excited to finally get this beauty..... :)

  1. You're going to be surprised at how small Disneyland is compared to WDW. It's fantastic, but feels like a miniature version of a place you know well. Saw it for the first time last month. Wish I could do this 1/2 marathon myself.

  2. @HeyBeeCee... I'm definitely excited to see the differences. I think I might have to do a lengthy comparison blog post about it when I return!

@Daniel...umm..your guess is as good as mine. According to the ChronoTrack site..

    http://www.chronotrack.com/for-athletes/b-tag-instructions/

-Race bib is clearly visible on the front of the torso
-Race bib is unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
-Race bib is pinned in all four corners
-Race bib is not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)

  3. I will be there, too! Then it's back to WDW for the W&D 1/2! Good Luck!

  4. I've used a B-tag before, just didn't realize it until I read your description. It is VERY important that it doesn't get folded or rolled up. Sort of annoying.

  5. Used the B-Tag for Miami ING half marathon. It is a tag glued to the back of your bib (nothing on your shoes). I saw many people wearing jackets over their bib. (Yeah it does get cold in Miami in Jan). Not sure if it still registered when they started. Since it was my 1st half marathon, I did not want to take any chances.

  6. Hm - B tag sounds interesting. I feel like D would be easier - less chance of messing it up?

I haven't been to Disneyland since December 2000 right before I moved back to live in WDW. I'm so excited to go "home" again! PLUS, we finally get to meet in person. Yippee!

**My one concern ... I get sick every time I go to Southern California from the smog. Now I'll be in a hotter climate trying to run and breathe - with the smog. I'm hoping that preparing for heat during the summer can at least help for 1/2 of that situation.

  7. @Faith... Sounds like we have the same schedule! :) Good luck to you too!

@Niffercoo... yeah, I've heard of people not getting counted b/c their bib was folded. Is the bib any bigger than normal? Smaller? The bibs for last years Disney races were HUGE (but we used D-Tags)

@Anonymous...I wouldn't want to take any chances either! Haven't used it yet so I'm interested to see how well it works!

@FruitFly...Def think D is easier, and I would think cheaper, right? But what do I know? :) And I can NOT wait to meet up finally! :) Ugh, I didn't even think of smog. I heard it was brutally hot a few years back for the run and me + heat do NOT get along either. Add smog to the mix? Blahhhhhhh

  8. Yay!! I'm so excited for you to go to Disneyland for the first time!! I go back and forth between which one I like the best, although Disneyland will always have a special place in my heart since it was the first one I went to.

  9. @Emily...thanks! I know WDW will always be my favorite just due to my history there but I'm really excited to see the original!

  10. This will be my third time doing the Disneyland Half. It's a fun race, pretty easy course - weather can be very different from year to year so prepare for chilly mornings or hot sunny days.

    Good luck!
