India Recap in Pictures... the Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal was absolutely beautiful!  Our day started out at some ridiculous hour (around 4am) to catch a 3 hour train up to Agra.  After spending the day wandering the Taj Mahal and Red Fort, we headed back to New Delhi and enjoyed a night in town.

  1. The Taj Mahal looks absolutely beautiful! My irrelevant question: aren't the plastic booties really slippery on the marble? I am pretty sure I would be falling more than I would be walking in them... :-)

  2. Okay so my first attempt at a comment got lost somewhere! :) But anyway - beautiful photos!! I really love the flower pic, with the Taj Mahal in the background. I really want to go to the Taj Mahal one day, but for whatever reason going to India scares me slightly. But I will make it there someday!

  4. How was it there - weather wise? Obviously warm since I don't seen big shoes and tons of clothes. Was it too hot? Humid? Dry? Perfect? Looking at the Taj Mahal photo with the flower it just looks like it would have been one of those really beautiful, fantastic days!

  5. @Melie...They were actually a fabric, kind of like what doctors wear into surgery? So it wasn't slippery, although they did rip easily!

    @Emily...thank you! Don't let it scare you...although we were all definitely worried too a little. It's definitely completely different than what we're used to but I loved every second of it!

    @Steve...thank you :)

    @FruiFly...it was HOT! Like REALLY hot. New Delhi and the Taj weren't so bad but Bangalore and Mumbai were almost unbearably hot during the afternoon. It was about 40-42 degrees Celsius every day (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit). And it was only MARCH! I can't imagine what it's like in May there. Ugh. Also definitely humid. Night time was beautiful though and we enjoyed going out to all the rooftop bars in Mumbai!
